We have often posted on the joys of motorcycle riding in our summer weather. We have also posted on the treacherous weather that can make riding more difficult in the summer months. Having represented many bike riders and enthusiasts as Gwinnett County motorcycle injury lawyer, the news today is sad indeed. A Buford resident and owner of a Harley-Davidson dealership there, has lost his life in the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. We are saddened by this news, and send our condolences to his friends and family.
Loss of life is a loss that is sometimes difficult to accept and understand. Said by his friends to be one of the most genuine and honest people they have known, Ralph Frazier was doing what he loved when he was killed while riding his Harley.
Having been a bike dealer since 1970, and an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer since 1992, the folks who knew him are devastated according to reports in the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. He and his friends were on a camping trip when the accident occurred. WIth a love of riding that was perhaps unsurpassed, one friend was quoted as saying that he came to work every day to be ” ‘around motorcycles.’ ”
The deadly accident occurred in some severe thunderstorms that struck the mountain region and took down trees. Mr. Frazier was killed when a tree limb struck him. Although he was taken to the hospital, he was not able to survive the blow.
Apparently, another person was also struck by a falling tree in the same storm, but a different location. The worst damage occurred in the 500,000-acre national park on the Tennessee-North Carolina border within the Cades Cove area. A combination of rain and unusual winds were the cause of the downed trees throughout the region which brought much destruction.
Dealing with tragedy and tragic accidents is never easy. As a catastrophic injury and accident attorney with a history of success and highest ratings by my peers, I have helped many families through the process of healing from terribly difficult accidents of all kinds. From the medical issues to the legal issues, the hardest thing for families to do is to focus on the pragmatic issues when they are grieving or in pain.
